I’m pleased to share good news on two subjects.
First, the French language version of the Glen Villa Art Garden website is now up and running! Many people whose first language is French search the website for information about the garden and events that are taking place. While this blog will remain available in English only, the rest of the website is now available in French. (There may be — probably are — minor errors and omissions. I’d appreciate it if you let me know so I can correct them.)
Having a French language version of the website was, and remains, an important acknowledgement of the fact that I live in Quebec, where the majority of residents have French as their mother tongue. It was, and remains, important to me as someone who spent many years of her life promoting the teaching of French as a second language. So for many reasons, I’m glad that my website can now be read in both French and English.
The second bit of good news is that tickets for the Open Garden Days at Glen Villa Art Garden are now available for purchase!
Clicking on the words ‘Open Garden Days & Tours’ in the box below will take you directly to the page where you can buy as many tickets as you need.
Be sure to choose the date you want to come and whether you want to visit in the morning or afternoon.
Numbers are limited so booking in advance is strongly recommended. And remember that your admission fee will go to support the work of the Massawippi Foundation.
You won’t receive an actual ticket; your confirmation of purchase is all you need. Plan to spend several hours or more to allow ample time to see the garden and to walk Timelines, the trail that moves beyond the garden into the surrounding fields and woods, where over a dozen art installations explore ideas about history, memory and our personal relationships to the land.
The property is hilly so I suggest you wear good walking shoes. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate wheelchairs or walkers but there are plenty of places to sit and rest, in the garden and along the 4 km Timelines trail.
I look forward to seeing you on whichever day you book, morning or afternoon. Parking is available on site at

See you soon!
