Glen Villa has a new website!
No longer Site and Insight, the place to go for garden news and reviews is now
Glen Villa Art Garden
On this new site you will find the same write-ups of gardens I visit around the world and the same punchy opinions and commentary about garden design, art, people and plants. You’ll find information about garden books, talks I give or attend, dates for special events and much, much more.
If you subscribe to my blog on Site and Insight, don’t worry, you don’t have to do anything to continue receiving posts. And those posts will start, once again, to come more regularly.
I started my first website so long ago that I can’t remember a date. That first site morphed into Site and Insight almost ten years ago. And what hasn’t changed in ten years?
Our love of gardens and gardening remains the same. And our love of visiting gardens, wherever they may be.
SO … another drum roll, please!
Glen Villa Art Garden will be open to the public on four Saturdays in 2022.
Saturday, June 25
Saturday, July 23
Saturday, August 20
Saturday, October 1
Opening times on all days are 9-4. Admission is $25/per person, and the money raised goes to Fondation Massawippi Foundation, the community organization and conservation trust that supports environmental causes in the Massawippi Valley, in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
Soon, within the next few weeks, you’ll be able to book your tickets on line.
Perhaps you’ve come before. Do plan to come again — you’ll see lots of new areas with new plants, and new art installations on new trails.
If you are coming for the first time, bring good walking shoes and plan to stay for a few hours or more. There is lots to see and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. (But no picnicking, please.)
Whether for the first time, the second time or more, do come again! And bring your friends and neighbours! (But no dogs, please.)
Now, for a final drum roll:
My new book that tells the story of Glen Villa will be available for purchase on the Open Days in July, August and October, at a special, reduced price.
I’m excited to welcome you to Glen Villa and to this new website, Glen Villa Art Garden. There’s lot to explore on the site, beautifully designed by Melanie-Alexandra Beauchamps, head of Arborescence Design. The style is contemporary and works well on all platforms, something the old website did not do. It includes lots of photos of the garden, the art and Timelines trail. Three short videos offer a glimpse into some of Glen Villa’s hidden delights and you can read about seminars on site or discover how to book one of my talks about gardens, art and garden design, in person or online.
I look forward to meeting old friends again and to making new ones, online and in person!
