The Joe Pye weed that was so gorgeous a few weeks ago is faded now, and while that has its own style of beautiful, it does mean that autumn is almost here.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7993\" style=\"width: 3259px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7993\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7993\" src=\"http:\/\/glenvillaartgarden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1.-pye-old-1-of-1.jpg\" alt=\"Many plants age well but Joe Pye could do with some help, I think.\" width=\"3249\" height=\"2172\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-7993\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The brown tones of Joe Pye&rsquo;s seed heads are a bit depressing. Do you agree?<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Other wildflowers are still going strong. Golden rod, of course.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7990\" src=\"http:\/\/glenvillaartgarden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/golden-rod-1-of-1.jpg\" alt=\"golden rod (1 of 1)\" width=\"5184\" height=\"3456\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>White asters &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7987\" src=\"http:\/\/glenvillaartgarden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/asters-1-of-1.jpg\" alt=\"asters (1 of 1)\" width=\"3685\" height=\"2590\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; and purple ones.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7983\" src=\"http:\/\/glenvillaartgarden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1.-aster-purple-1-of-1.jpg\" alt=\"1. aster purple (1 of 1)\" width=\"2965\" height=\"2306\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Queen Anne&rsquo;s lace is everywhere, gorgeous in full bloom,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7985\" src=\"http:\/\/glenvillaartgarden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1.-Queen-Annes-lace-1-of-1.jpg\" alt=\"1. Queen Anne's lace (1 of 1)\" width=\"2393\" height=\"2393\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>and intriguing before it opens, when it is a curled up promise.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7986\" src=\"http:\/\/glenvillaartgarden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1.-Queen-Annes-lace-bud-1-of-1.jpg\" alt=\"1. Queen Anne's lace bud (1 of 1)\" width=\"1940\" height=\"1386\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&rsquo;m delighted to seeTurtlehead (<em>Chelone glabra<\/em>) return to our fields.
