The trail through the Joe Pye weed is luscious in August, for bees and for pedestrians.<\/p><\/div>\n

Insects make their presence known.<\/p>\n

I’m not sure what flying creature this is, but I love the translucency of the wings.<\/p><\/div>\n

Roses re-bloom.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Chanterelles

Chanterelles gleam in the woodland darkness.<\/p><\/div>\n

Near the house, a path leads up the hill and\u00a0into the woods.<\/p>\n

\"Petasites

Petasites japonicus variegatus thrives in the shady woods.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Canadian

Canadian thistle blooms in sunny spots. Even though it is a pest of a plant, I like its form.<\/p><\/div>\n

Autumn announces itself late in August.<\/p>\n

Leaves in the Lower Garden are just beginning to change colour.<\/p><\/div>\n

It becomes more and more\u00a0prominent as September<\/strong> progresses.<\/p>\n

This little horse chestnut tree is one of the first to change colour every year.<\/p><\/div>\n

Trees begin to change colour along the driveway.<\/p><\/div>\n

Autumn colours is spectacular.<\/p><\/div>\n

I spent most of September in England, leading my final garden tour. But home again,\u00a0October<\/strong> made its own strong statement.<\/p>\n
