For some of you, it will be new. Apologies to those for whom it is a duplication.<\/em>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\"Welcome\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nFor the past few years, we’ve opened Glen Villa Art Garden to the general public on Open Garden Days. This has been extremely rewarding for me personally. It gave me a chance to meet and talk with so many people: old friends and new, visitors to the area, neighbours, fellow gardeners, artists, young and old. We talked about plants, garden design, or whatever was on our minds. We shared ideas and I learned so much from the exchange.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n

One group last summer included Hillary Clinton and some of her good friends.<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\nOpening the garden was a way to raise money for the Massawippi Foundation, our local conservation society. In two years, we raised almost $100,000 and this money has gone directly into building trails and making the land we conserved open to all, at no cost, year round.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n

A son, a granddaughter and I hiked one of the trails built by the Massawippi Foundation last fall, when the snow was not very deep. It was a wonderful experience on a crisp day.<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\nI’m proud of what we accomplished together. But all good things come to an end.\r\n\r\nThis coming summer we will open the garden a limited number of times, to pre-booked groups of 15 people or more.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n

This group from NIP, an outstanding firm of Montreal landscape architects, visited the garden a few years ago. Talk about learning from others — this group was inspirational!<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\nPlease get in touch for details on dates and prices.
